What are other districts doing?

I stumbled upon the Gifted and Talented links for two other Arkansas school districts recently:
Springdale and North Little Rock.

Can anyone suggest other strong districts who we can look to for best practices?

AGATE Conference includes Parent Seminars

The Arkansas Gifted and Talented Educators (AGATE) conference is held in February each year. The 2008 conference will be held February 19-22 at the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock. The conference includes a parent seminar on the 21st featuring Sgt. Rick Woody, Greenbrier School Resource Officer discussing “Internet Predator Awareness for Parents” and Dr. James Delisle, a professor from Kent State University, presenting “Parenting Gifted Kids: Tips for Raising Happy, Successful Children”.

Youth Entrepreneur Showcase

"The third annual Youth Entrepreneur Showcase (Y.E.S.) student business plan competition's recent first-round deadline rendered a record-setting 229 plans for Arkansas children in grades 5-8, including plans from Greenbrier High School. In 2006, 141 business plans were submitted and in the first Y.E.S. competition 84 teams participated. "

I am a bit jealous that Greenbrier had a team and presumably Conway did not.
