CHSE Quiz Bowl Team Takes State Finals

Congratulations to the ninth grade Quiz Bowl championship team from Conway High East. The team came in first place and was undefeated in their bracket at the highest level of play during the 7A State Quiz Bowl Finals on Saturday, February 22 at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.

Duke TIP program

Letters went out this week to 5th grade students who were invited to the Duke University Talent Identification Program. This appears to be a great program for students who score at least 95 on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills. Please add a comment if your child has participated in the past. I would like to know the pros and cons of this program.

More students are taking the tests of knowledge on college-level courses. More students are making passing scores. Hispanic students have overcome any achievement gap. Black students still aren't scoring high enough in relation to their numbers, but performances are improving.

Faulkner County Spelling Bee

The wind and rain storms from last week caused substantial damage to the Clark Auditorium at CHS West so the site of the Bee has been changed to Simon Intermediate.
